7th and 8th Grade
Unique Program Elements

Middle school may present new challenges to
the home study family.  Parents are beginning
to look ahead to high school and may want to
start transitioning their son/daughter into a
classroom setting.  Mark West Charter School
staff will work with you to determine the best
program for your student.

Options include:
  • Full-time Independent Home Study
  • Home school for academic core classes
    and attend afternoon elective classes
    (6th - 8th graders)
  • Attend Science Camp, Angel Island, and
    other optional trips for 7th and 8th
  • Competitive sports team participation
Kindergarten – 6th Grade
Unique Program Elements

  • Day on Campus (optional) 10:00 to 2:00 Wednesdays
    where all home school students come to our classroom
    for a day of school that includes:  Guided writing
    instruction, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering,
    and Math) activities, group and partner projects, school
    library visits, art lessons, critical thinking and problem
    solving skill development activities, arts and crafts, and
    outdoor play
  • Music programs as offered by Mark West Union School
    District are also available to our students
  • Information regarding field trips, local activities and
    learning events, enrichment classes, and home learning
    extension ideas provided
